The Cheltenham Festival turned out to be an ‘interesting’ week. Something creepy about the way the weather always seems to throw things at it but with a building high we had hoped for the best bar a bit of speculation about possible fog! Tuesday was a fine blue day with 3 machines operating; Wednesday and Thursday the airfield just about vanished with Friday a little better until the Heliport ‘phoned late in the afternoon to say we might not get back in to pick up our pax. Despite all that we lost very little business but nevertheless offer our apologies to those whose flights were unavoidably delayed or cancelled. However, with a bit of re-jigging we managed to fly multi-machine programmes on all four days to and from private sites including hotels, Thornbury Castle, Swansea and the Slaughters as well as our regular shuttle between the airfield and racecourse. Thanks to all who flew with us and for the patience and understanding of those whose day couldn’t quite go to plan due to the excesses of our climate!
